Gilberts has gained BSRIA Cert certification for its WH-75 range of high- performance external weather louvres, claiming to be the first company to receive this certification. This new scheme is designed to ensure that weather louvres are classified correctly in accordance with the relevant test standard and that the performance classification claimed is both valid and repeatable through the manufacturing process.

BSRIA recognised that testing to a standard that is only a snapshot of a product or production process would not necessarily provide the full spectrum of confidence that a specifier needs, so BSRIA Cert developed a certification scheme that adds specific requirements that are critical for consistent quality manufacture.

By being tested and certified by BSRIA Cert against the requirements of the certification scheme, Gilberts can demonstrate that it has the design, management and control systems in place to deliver quality products and services that precisely meet the client’s specification.

The WH-75 series louvres were originally tested to the recognised BSEN 13030:2001 weathering standard and qualified with a high weather-protection rating with low pressure drop. The new certification allows further transparency of the test results, indicating a weathering performance at two set velocities and a coefficient of discharge value to indicate pressure drop through the product whilst still offering a full 50% free area.
