Methodist church looks to benefit from solar PV
A Methodist Church in Kidderminster is expected to export 8 MWh of electricity a year following the installation of a solar PV system by Eco2Solar. The project for Dale Street Methodist Church was financed by interest-free loans from members of the congregation, which will be repaid from the £1425 tax-free annual income expected from the Feed-in Tariff.
The installation comprises 39 Suntech panels with an output of 250 W each and a Fronius IG120 inverter.
The church’s property steward Andrew Emm says, ‘We have already seen the system running as high as 70% in just Winter sunshine. We were confident to work with Eco2Solar knowing that our 100-year-old slate roof was in safe hands.’
