Manhole and trench covers avoid metal theft

Fibrelite, GRP manhole cover

Fibrelite’s range of GRP composite access covers for manholes and trenches provide a solution to the problem of metal theft by having no resale value in the scrap market. Their light weight compared to metal and concrete makes them much easier to lift for access, and they are lockable. They have load ratings up to BS EN 124 F900 (90t).

Although GRP composite is initially more expensive than metal, Fibrelite covers will not delaminate or corrode and have a minimum guaranteed lifespan of 15 maintenance-free years.

Following significant investment in new tooling , the A15 load-rated 50 mm-deep trench panels (Pictured) are available in sizes from 800 to 1600 mm long. The manufacturing process has been adapted to utilise recycled glass fibres.
