Adelphi Building features Ability fan-coil units

Ability, fan-coil unit, air conditioning, maintenance, refurbishment
New 4-pipe fan-coil units for the Adelphi building in central London have been supplied by Ability Projects.

The phased refurbishment of the iconic Adelphi Building on the north bank of the River Thames in central London includes the replacement of 20-year-old fan-coil units on the seventh floor by 148 modern ceiling-recessed Trojan units from Ability Projects. These 4-pipe units were supplied with Trend BMS controls fitted by Ability. This first order has recently been augmented for a further one for 112 Trojan units for the 11th floor.

The units have cooling capacities from 0.5 to 2 kW and heating from 1 to 3 kW. They feature 2-port valves and fresh-air intakes on the discharge plenum and run at elevated chilled-water temperatures of 12/16°C to prevent condensation.

Trojan units for the latest order have quick-release electrical boxes with snap-in electrical terminals to allow quick and easy maintenance in a busy office environment.

Replacement of the existing equipment, which includes fitting new branch valves on the chilled-water and heating risers, is being carried out by contractor John Carter of Salisbury.
