Toshiba introduces 7-year warranty

Toshiba Air Conditioning

Toshiba Air Conditioning has introduced what it claims to be the industry’s first 7-year warranty for air-conditioning equipment. Under the new scheme, if a PCB fails, Toshiba will supply a new PCB and a realistic £175 installation cost — compared with £28 before, a figure in line with industry practice.

The warranty is available to all Toshiba accredited installers completing the required training modules, subject to equipment being installed and commissioned in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines.

Installers complete a commissioning sheet for each project, which is checked by Toshiba’s technical team and, subject to standards being met, a warranty certificate issued.

Commercial director David Dunn says, ‘Toshiba has been at the forefront of warranty protection in the air-conditioning industry for some years, and this latest move confirms our lead in this critical area for installers and customers. Under the new scheme, no-one is left out of pocket — a frequent criticism of some company schemes.’
