Panasonic introduces smaller Aquarea heat pumps

Panasonic has added low-capacity 3 and 5 kW Bi-bloc units to its Aquarea range of air-to-water heat pumps. They are ideal for small homes, social-housing developments and properties where there is no gas supply. They are specially designed for low-consumption homes and come as heating-only and heating-and-cooling versions. They use R410A.

The patented refrigeration cycle and flow control are combined with a high-efficiency inverter and heat-exchange module to deliver impressive energy savings. The Aquarea 3.2 kW model achieves a COP of 5 at 7°C and can maintain temperature and efficiency at outdoor temperatures as low as -20°C.

To improve system energy efficiency still further, these new units have an A-class pump with three different speeds to adjust to the required water flow.

In combination with the new Panasonic HR200 sanitary hot-water tank, these new units deliver hot water at 55°C, even at outdoor temperatures as low as -15°C.

The HR200 tank is specially designed for connecting to heat pumps and has a 1.8 m2 surface.

Outdoor units have noise levels of only 47/48 dB(A).

Optimum control is possible with a room thermostat and built-in management of the hot-water cylinder and heating.
