Durapipe checks in at boutique hotel

Durapipe, plastic pipework
The domestic water requirements of this boutique hotel in Cornwall have been met effectively using Durapipe’s HTA plastic pipework.

Durapipe’s HTA plastic pipework has been installed for the domestic water requirements of the refurbishment of Lewinnick Lodge in Newquay, Cornwall, into a boutique hotel and restaurant. It overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and was formerly a restaurant. The refurbishment has transformed it into a 10-bedroom hotel.

Using borehole water made it important that a durable pipework system was installed. HTA has excellent corrosion and limescale resistant properties.

Specified by Tapson Services, HTA pipework distributes borehole water around the building for hot and cold water supplies. Manifolds for hot and cold water were fitted to create joint-free pipe runs to carry water to outlets in the hotel accommodation. A flow-and-return header was then used for the underflow water distribution pipes.

Paul Marven of Tapson Services says, ‘Durapipe HTA offered us the long-term performance that the client needed, while its ease of installation during the installation benefited us, making it preferable over copper.’

This pipe is available in sizes from 20 to 160 mm. Solvent welding jointing eliminates the need for hot works.
