Chemical drainage for this research centre at Cardiff University is provided by Vulcathene pipework.

New laboratories at Cardiff University are fitted out with Vulcathene pipework for chemical drainage. Sizes from 50 to 102 mm were installed by B&H Plumbing in the new 5-storey research centre on the Maindy Park Campus. The project comprises a cancer research centre, the university’s MRC Centre for Neuropsychiatric Genetics & Genomics and the Neuroscience & Mental Health Research Institute.

Named the Hadyn Ellis Building after the later deputy vice-chancellor Prof. Hadyn Ellis, the £30 million centre is due to open this year.

Vulcathene is available in sizes from 38 to 152 mm and with two jointing methods — mechanical for demountable joints and Enfusion for welded joints.
