Vaillant opens centre of excellence in Scotland

 Vaillant, boiler, space heating

Vaillant Group has opened a centre of excellence in Scotland at Eurocentral, which is between Glasgow and Edinburgh on the M8 motorway. This £1 million facility provides 930 m2 of space to act as an information and education hub for heating installers and contractors throughout Scotland. It was opened by group CEO Dr Carsten Voigtlander (right in photo) and Jim Moore, UK and western Europe managing director.

The UK is among Vaillant Group’s largest markets, with the Vaillant and Glow-worm domestic brands accounting for about a third of the 1.4 million boilers sold in the UK each year. Scotland has been historically under-represented, and the 9500 installers in Scotland have not had easy access to the same quality of resource available in England.

Scotland has an above-average proportion of households in fuel poverty (40% compared to 28% for the UK) and a larger proportion of households in off-gas areas (22% versus 18%). Both groups are key potential adopters of the high-efficiency boilers and renewable technologies (heat pumps and solar thermal) made by Vaillant Group.

Jim Moore comments, ‘We now have six centres of excellence in the UK, and each has proved to be a worthy investment — helping to play a significant role in the acceleration of understanding and adoption of high-efficiency heating products.’
