Luxury homes include underfloor heating and cooling

Luxury home
Herons Brook, a 650 m2 Georgian-style property in Prestbury, Cheshire, is one of a growing number including underfloor heating and cooling built by Hillcrest Homes.
Underfloor heating and cooling is being included in its most prestigious projects by Cheshire developer Hillcrest Homes. The Velta Tecto 2 system is a low-profile floor heating/cooling system for use in pumped flowing screed applications. It can be used in most commercial and domestic applications. It is based on fixing panels that interlock as they are laid on the floor. After the PE-Xa pipes are secured, the floor is ready for screeding. The control system enables individual room temperatures to be set. Hillcrest’s specification includes the Velta Genius room controller. This is a free-standing, wireless system. Weather compensation is included. Home buyers can upgrade to a combined floor heating and cooling system using Velta’s Vivaldi control system. Tecto underfloor systems have so far been used in six properties. Mike Kennedy, managing director of Hillcrest Homes, says, ‘We are very happy with them — and so are our customers.’
