Saint-Gobain wins another drainage contract for Cumberland hospital

Saint-Gobain PAM, cast iron drainage
VortX cast-iron drainage products from Saint-Gobain are to be installed in the new West Cumberland Hospital.

Cast-iron-drainage specialist Saint-Gobain PAM has added to its supply contract for the New West Cumberland Hospital with a major order for shower gullies and floor drainage products from its VortX range. The earlier contract was for Ensign Soil cast-iron above-ground drainage.

The latest agreement is for 137 floor gully units and nickel-bronze gratings for shower applications and 28 plant-room drains. The gullies were selected for their construction in cast iron and their design in accordance with the BS EN 1253 standard.

The VortX products were required to go through an approval process by the local health authority for use in a hospital environment.

Richard Smith, technical sales manager with Saint-Gobain, says, ‘We are delighted to have secured such a large order for the VortX range. Our ability to offer a bespoke sized spigot for the drain bodies played a significant part in landing the order that will save the contractor valuable time on site.’

The hospital is due for completion in December 2015.
