Armstrong controller co-ordinates four pumps

Armstrong Pumps, pump controller

The parallel sensorless pump controller from Armstrong Fluid Technology can co-ordinate the operation of up to four Armstrong variable-speed pumps to achieve energy-efficient operation at a reduced first installed cost. By automatically ensuring best efficiency staging, pump efficiency can be improved by up to 35%. The Armstrong pumps include on-board inverters and do not need remote sensors, reducing installation time.

This controller integrates with protocols such as Modbus, BACnet and LonWorks.

As the inverter and control technology is resident in the pumps and the controller, there is no need for remote sensors, saving in the region of £950 for a 4-pump application. Installation is simplified and the risk of under-performance due to inaccurate sensor placement eradicated.
