MCA rebrands as part of branding initiative

Consulting engineers Martin Clowes Associates (MCA) has renamed itself elementa consulting as part of a branding initiative to reflect its expanding portfolio of building services and design and project-management solutions. The 20-year-old practice has offices in Surrey and Oxon. Its client list includes Accor, Allied London, Infracare, Dixons and Starbucks, as well as leading architectural practices.. Its growth rate is running at 20% a year, and a number of client relationships stretch back over 20 years. Managing director Martin Clowes says, ‘Our decision to rename as elementa consulting is to provide a more contemporary identity and follows an extensive period of market appraisal. The new name conveys the ways in which we are combining traditional “machines, pipes and cables” solutions with new emphasis on managing the natural elements within the built environment.’

More refrigerant bans possible, says government

The government could tighten up the rules that restrict the use of global warming refrigerant gases including speeding up phase-out programmes and introducing new bans, according to a spokesman from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA).
