Welsh hospital turns to Dalkia for CHP

Gogenco, CHP
Helping to reduce carbon emissions at Morriston Hospital is CHP plant installed by Cogenco.

Cogenco is supplying and commissioning a 500 kW CHP plant at Morriston Hospital in Swansea. The plant will save an estimated 800 t of CO2 a year and help reduce the hospital’s carbon footprint. Cogenco is a subsidiary of Dalkia, which will provide operation and maintenance services after the CHP engine has been commissioned.

The installation of this CHP plant is part of an extension to the hospital, which is undergoing major development.

The extension works comprise the construction of a new specialist rehabilitation centre, multi-storey car park and estates building — as well as improvements to the emergency department and mortuary.
