Bristol office building refurbishes with heat-recovery VRF

LG’s Multi V heat-recovery VRF system forms part of the refurbishment of an 1860 m2 refurbishment of a 2-storey office block in Bristol. The system for the glass-fronted 710 Aztec West was designed and specified by consulting engineers Wye Solutions.
The new system comprises two 26 hp Multi V heat-recovery condensers connected to 31 high static ducted units. These indoor units are controlled by two thermistors measuring temperature at the controller and the indoor unit to maintain precise and accurate room temperatures. Each floor also has three ecoV heat-recovery ventilation units to deliver fresh air. Each floor is controlled by an LG AC Smart centralised controller, so there was no need for a third-party BMS.
The consulting engineer comments, ‘We chose a VRF solution for this job as we do tend to lean towards heat recovery because we believe it offers maximum flexibility for landlords and tenants.’
Invek was the installation contractor.
