Oventrop sets the temperature in Cambridge hotel

Hotel
Valves to control hot- and cold-water services in this eye-catching hotel in Cambridge were supplied by Oventrop.
Valves to control domestic hot water and other water services in a hotel with an award-winning exterior were supplied by Oventrop for mechanical-services contractor Bower Fuller. The Oventrop valves have been installed throughout the 120-bedroom, 6-storey Travelodge in Cambridge. This budget hotel forms part of the East Lane Leisure Park on the site of the former cattle market. The exterior design is the result of a competition for young local architects. The upper floors are framed in glass, with projecting sound baffles and illuminated night panels. By day, all that is visible is rectangular framed glazing. At night, the tall, thin panels between the windows are illuminated, and the whole building looks like a cruise ship at sea. The Oventrop valves are also used in several plant rooms to control pumps, ancillaries and boosters sets and their circuits throughout the hotel. Furness Green Partnership, consulting engineers based in Leeds, oversaw the design and build.
