B&ES chief executive resigns
Roderick Pettigrew has resigned as chief executive of the Building & Engineering Services Association (B&ES). President Andy Sneyd explained that the departure was amicable. Mr Pettigrew had worked for the association for 25 years and was chief executive for the last 18 months.
To ensure that B&ES continues to operate effectively until a new chief executive is appointed, a strategic and operational board has been set up. It is chaired by the president and comprises finance-committee chairman John Miller, finance director Ray Barraclough and Bruce Kirton, chief executive of Welplan, the association’s principal commercial subsidiary.
Andy Sneyd said, ‘At the top of the new board’s agenda will be key issues surrounding membership and marketing, the development of the association’s own skills base and the future of vocational education and training across building engineering services.’
