Boosting the DHW efficiency of combi boilers

Tenants of housing group A2Dominion are looking forward to savings of £150 a year in gas and water charges following the installation of Guardian Solutions Flowsave units in the DHW pipework from combi boilers. These devices reduce the flow of water from the boiler until the correct temperature has been reached. Full flow is then permitted.

The devices have been installed in a thousand properties.

By limiting the flow when a tap or shower is first turned on, the required flow temperature is reached more quickly, saving both fuel and water. Paradoxically, perhaps, hot water arrives at the outlet more quickly.

It takes just a few minutes to install a Flowsave close to the combi boiler.
