Castle’s Scottish office enjoys good first year

Castle Building Services reports that its Scottish office at East Kilbride is well ahead of its first-year budget with the announcement of £4.7 million of contract wins. The contracts span the leisure, residential and commercial-office sectors. With Castle’s initial orders, they have created 42 directly employed jobs and at least a hundred sub-contract roles.

The hotel and leisure sector is proving particularly fruitful, and Castle is working on five conversions of offices to hotels in Glasgow alone. One project is full M&E design services for converting an office block into a 101-bed IBIS Styles Hotel.

Derek Reid, who heads up the office, says, ‘From the outset, it has been our mission to recruit and retain high-calibre built-environment professionals who have established reputations and developed strong working relationships with clients and project partners. This has provided fruitful as we continue to win a variety of contracts, many of which are design and build in nature, ranging in value from £700 000 to almost £6 million.’
