The recent General Election campaign saw Prime Minister David Cameron visiting the factory of Flakt Woods at Colchester. The visit was unannounced and coincided with the official launch day for the new JMv Aerofoil axial fan that increases fan efficiencies by up to 82% and reduces running costs by an average of 17%.

UK managing director Ian Morehouse met Mr Cameron. They viewed the engineering and product facilities and met with team members. Mr Morehouse highlighted how the new product range had been delivered using advanced engineering design tools.

Flakt Woods has operated in Colchester since 1909. Yan Evans, vice president for the UK sales unit, said, β€˜To be recognised by the Prime Minister demonstrates how effective Flakt Woos is within the UK and worldwide markets. It is a credit to the efforts of our employees for continuing to keep Flakt Woods a name you can trust and rely on.’
