Replacement water heaters for caravan site
Seaview International Holiday Park at St Austell in Cornwall boasts exceptionally high-quality shower blocks and is enjoying significant savings in fuel consumption since the installation of Rinnai continuous-flow water heaters to replace the stored-hot-water system. One benefit for visitors is that the showers will never run out of hot water.
Rinnai sales consultant Scott Humphries had been in touch with World Team, owner of Seaview International, for some time and had quoted for a new shower block. A chance visit at the beginning of the season coincided with the breakdown of the old hot-water system. Local installer MR Parsons St Austell was called into install four Infinity HDC1500 water heaters, which were delivered next day to run on LPG.
The site has seen a drop in the use of LPG of 20 to 25%, which, according to Sarah Goodwin of Seaview, ‘can only be attributable to the shower block’. The site can have over 1500 guests at any one time in the peak season.
She explains, ‘I can’t give a detailed breakdown of figures as we have the swimming pool and other areas served by the same LPG tank.
‘The great thing with the Rinnai units is that when they are not being used, they will also be saving on energy because they will not be heating up any stored water.
‘Rinnai also scores massively when it comes to maintenance. As long as the site maintains electricity to the units at the end of the season (very small amount needed) and they are drained down properly, they simply fire straight back up again. ‘With stored systems we often had to do a lot of work on them, get new parts and even replace them altogether.’
