Briggs & Forrester works on major project for Nottingham University
Briggs & Forrester Engineering Services has nearly completed work on the Science & Engineering Library at the University of Nottingham. The project involved the complete refurbishment and overhaul of the existing library, including a new facade. The value of the M&E work was £3.2 million and was delivered for Galliford Try.
This design-and-build project doubled the size of the existing structure. The work is over two phases to enable the library to remain fully operational.
The design to BREEAM ‘Excellent’ includes district heating, mechanical displacement ventilation, chilled-water systems with packaged plant room, public health water and drainage, lighting, fire and security systems. Connections were made to existing infra-structure and solarPV installation.
