Energy-efficient ventilation units

Flakt Woods, ventilation, energy recovery, heat recovery, school

Flakt Woods has developed a range of energy-recovery ventilation units to help schools meet Government guidelines and cut costs. Units in the eco Premium range incorporate a counterflow energy-recovery element that can recover up to 85% of the thermal energy passing through it.

When specified with sensors, eco Premium can automatically adjust to changing conditions in a room. A presence detector will start the system when the room is occupied and shut it down when the room is not occupied. An internal CO2 sensor can adjust the air supply according to the number of people in the room.

There are six models, with outputs from 0.25 to 0.9 m3/s, with modulation down to about 15% of full flow. Noise levels are less than 20 dB(A) at 3 m.

All units have integrated controls, including temperature control. Free cooling can be provided by bypassing the heat exchanger. There is also the option of a cooling coil and pre- and post-heaters for temperatures from -5 down to -15°C.

Control is by a user-friendly touchscreen. In larger installations the touchscreen can be remotely managed by the built-in communication interface.
