Heat-pump project qualifies for the non-domestic RHI

The Daikin Altherma Flex Type air-to-water heat-pump installation in the headquarters of Barkwell Plumbing & Heating in Okehampton, Devon, has qualified for the non-domestic RHI (Renewable Heat Incentive) and will receive quarterly payments for 20 years.

The non-domestic RHI was introduced in November 2011 and amended to include air-source heat pumps in May 2014,

The seasonal performance factor (SPF) for this installation was estimated to be 3.0, exceeding the minimum requirement of 2-5. As required by the non-domestic RHI guidelines, heat and electric meters were fitted to measure the energy generated and consumed.

The Altherma Flex system can produce water temperatures at up to 80°C. Systems can be cascaded to supply buildings with large heat demands of several hundred kilowatts.
