TAC Satchwell sets out its business strategy

Following the recent acquisition of the Invensys advanced-building-systems business by Schneider Electric, Derek Duffill, managing director of TAC Satchwell in the UK, has set out the new organisation’s business strategy in this country. He explains that the company is totally committed to the existing installed base of systems from TA Controls, Andover Controls and Satchwell. On the principles guiding future development, Arne Frank, CEO of TAC, says, ‘We are totally committed to open systems and totally committed to open integrated systems. Our vision is to be our customers’ preferred supplied of open integrated systems for building IT, and we are committed to integrated and truly interoperable systems.’ The route to that ideal involves continuing to sell existing products and systems until a new-generation platform has been developed with a migration path from the installed base. Derek Duffill explains, ‘We have no way to succeed if we do not protect our installed base. we will deliver value until we have a next-generation platform that existing users can migrate to.’ TA was acquired by Schneider in 2003, merged with Andover last year, and the combined company was merged with Invensys in August this year. TAC Satchwell has a one-third share of the UK market, almost equally split between sales through direct channels and its partner network — according to I&I Proplan.
