WEMS acquires Aimteq

WEMS, which specialises in wireless building energy management systems, has acquired Aimteq Energy Management, one of the UK’s longest-established systems-integration companies. The acquisition brings together the skills and experience in the energy-solutions market, making possible an enhanced service offering — including bureau services.

With the acquisition comes a restructuring of the two businesses. As a supplier of BEMS products, WEMS has recognised the need for Aimteq to maintain its status as a technology-agnostic open-systems house that can deliver the most appropriate solution to meet the needs of its customers. As such, WEMS has separated out its hardware business, Wireless Energy Management, from the renamed Aimteq Solutions. Both are owned by Enterprise Solutions Holdings.

Aimteq is responsible for over 5500 installations and maintains over 1500 sites across the UK. All existing WEMS solutions contracts will continue to be serviced by Aimteq.

Paul Summers, CEO at Enterprise Solutions Holdings, comments, ‘Aimteq is an impressive business with an enviable reputation and installed base. Our businesses are naturally aligned, and our skill-sets complement each other. As a complete BMS/BEMS solutions provider, we can offer so much more to customers.’

Arthur Jupp, managing director at Aimteq Energy Management, adds, ‘Together, we now have greater capability, a national reach and a much enhanced service offering. As a one-stop shop for energy-related BMS/BEMS services, we immediately distinguish ourselves from other businesses in the energy arena. Customers do not want multiple suppliers — they want one trusted partner.’

Aimteq Solutions will operate from offices in Manchester and Cirencester.
