Load-shedding software is compatible with a BMS

Load-shedding software that is compatible with Priva’s Compri HX controllers can set peak electricity consumption, making it possible to choose a more economic supply contract. To enable electrical consumption to remain within agreed limits, this software records consumption during measurement periods defined by the synchronisation pulse form the energy-supply company. Based on agreed consumption levels and the recorded demand during the measurement periods, a calculation is made to predict if a peak will occur. Following the user’s specification, the software decides what plant and equipment can be shut down without affecting operation. Unavoidable peaks can be managed using standby generators. This load-shedding software can be fully integrated into a building-management system via Compri HX controllers. Even when operating in stand-alone mode, a controller can be programmed with the load-shedding software. Connections to meters can be achieved using open protocols such as BACnet, Modbus or M-bus.
