Fujitsu VRF is just the treatment in Irish clinic

Fujitsu’s largest VRF air-conditioning system serves this impressive clinic in Ireland.
The impressive Galway Clinic in the west of Ireland has become Fujitsu’s largest VRF air-conditioning installation. Fujitsu distributor ICE of Dublin supplied the 36 VRF systems. They serve 183 indoor units in the £100 million clinic, which has a hundred beds and more than doubles the number of private hospital beds available in the area. There are 36 consulting suites used by 97 top medical consultants. The roof-mounted 2-pipe heat-pump units provide 22.4 kW of cooling and 25.2 kW of heating to the indoor units. Ducted units have been used inside, providing a discreet fixing with neat Twitoplast diffusers fitted flush to the ceilings. There are also 50 individual split air conditioners serving administration offices, communications room, small laboratories, mammography and security room. ICE installed the equipment, with final commissioning completed by Fujitsu. Peter Somers of ICE explains, ‘We had just seven months to install, commission and test the system. With Fujitsu’s assistance, we completed on time.’ Standard wall-fixed wired remote controllers have been installed. Typically, one controller manages two indoor units, but can control up to 16 if required. Programs include a weekly timer that allows two on/off switches per day for a week, a setback timer that can accommodate two different temperature settings for each day of the week, an energy-saving program and the standard operational settings.
