Emergency lighting uses power over Ethernet

Mackwell has supplied power-over-Ethernet LED emergency lighting as part of the upgrade of Willmott Dixon Interiors in Farringdon Street London. This design-and-build project was carried out by intelligent-building-services specialist LMG. The project also included Mackwell’s low-voltage emergency lighting, a new Cat6 cabling infrastructure, Wi-Fi network, CCTV, access control and audiovisual systems.

The emergency lighting has been installed on all seven floors of the building and included emergency luminaires and exit signs.

Each lamp head on the emergency luminaires contains an integrated bi-colour indicator system and test switch and 500 mm wiring loom. Recessed mounting brackets make for quick and easy installation.

The architectural exit signs enable wiring to be completed before decoration.

The entire emergency system is powered by Mackwell’s N-lighting EC, an intelligent low-voltage emergency panel that provides a central component for powering and commissioning Mackwells emergency-lighting system.

N-light EC is a fast and simple approach to installing emergency lighting, as all products are connected via plug-in Cat6 cabling. N-light EC works in harmony with all the general lighting in the building, which is also powered via Cat6 cable.
