Sontay reaches new heights in France

Sontay has supplied sensors and measurement devices for the new Incity Tower in Lyon, France. They are combined with products from Distech Controls. This office building peaks at 200 m and is the first large-scale building (40 000 m2) to achieve HQE (High Environmental Quality) certification in a city centre in France and also has a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating. It is the tallest tower in Lyon and the third tallest in France.
Working with Distech Controls, Sontay provided 240 carbon-dioxide sensors, which were installed by a local systems integrator. These sensors use a non-dispersive infra-red sensor to measure carbon-dioxide concentration. They have a self-calibration algorithm to improve long-term stability and accuracy.
These sensors help to ensure there is adequate ventilation while minimising energy consumption by ventilating at the optimum level.
Incity Tower required a scalable and modular BMS that could easily be adapted to the needs of occupants. A BACnet system was chosen to enable all HVAC equipment to work together seamlessly and in the most efficient way.
