Adcock completes major R22 replacement project

Adcock, R22, contractor, air conditioning

Adcock Refrigeration & Air Conditioning has completed a major R22 replacement project for Fujitsu Services in Birmingham. The project, on behalf of E2, a leading provider of bespoke energy management, involved replacing all the air-conditioning and air-handling units in the entire 13 500 m2 building and was spread over eight months while the building was fully occupied.

There were six phases, which required individual working areas of the building to be relocated temporarily during the fit-out. Work included decommissioning the existing server room.

In total, 11 Fujitsu VR-II heat-recovery systems were installed, along with 27 condensing units, 120 ducted fan coils and two split systems. The system are fully managed by a BACnet gateway and touch-panel system control.

The server-room systems were replaced with a heat-recovery close-control system comprising three DencoHappel modular heat-recovery units.

Fujitsu Services has subsequently awarded Adcock the contract to service and maintain the new systems.
