Weymouth hotel upgrades with Stokvis systems

Boilers
An up-to-date approach to heating and hot water in the Crown Hotel, Weymouth, is provided by Stokvis modulating boilers and plate heat exchangers.
The problems of aging boiler plant at the Crown Hotel in Weymouth have led its replacement with equipment from Stokvis. The new installation comprises two Econoflame R307 modulating boilers and the splitting of the supply of hot water into two separate zones. To meet the demands of 40 bedrooms, an E4A 270 Econoplate packaged plate heat exchanger and a new buffer vessel were installed. An E4A 150 unit and a second buffer vessel provide hot water for a further 21 bedrooms. Gordon Luff, mechanical contracts manager of H. W. Smith & Sons, comments, ‘L. W. King Partners own four hotels, various bars and restaurants within Weymouth. We do all the maintenance work required on their plumbing and heating. Stokvis was able to supply the boilers and plate heat exchangers to guarantee plentiful hot water in the Crown Hotel. We added the Econopress to enable us to convert the system from a standard on to a pressurised system.’
