Electric radiant heating slashes church energy bill
The installation of Tansun infra-red electric radiant heaters to replace underfloor heating at a church in Wolverhampton has reduced energy costs by over 75%. St Michael’s Church was looking for a heating solution that did not require long preheat periods of up to three days.
Annual heating costs of £4295 for the old system were reduced to £889 by the Tansun system. The savings for December and February were particularly impressive. A bill of £1546 for December was reduced to £254, and for February the reduction was from £1050 to £153.
Tansun advised that each area of the church would require a different heating solution, so a variety of heaters with different outputs was installed. Apollo heaters are available with outputs of 6, 9 and 12 kW for 3-phase operation.
A range of brakets enables the heaters to be mounted at the appropriate angle.
