Duncan Lewis, managing director of Xylem Water Solutions UK, has been appointed president of the British Pump Manufacturers Association.

Grundfos Pumps’ managing director Peter Reynolds handed over the baton after his two-year tenure as president at the Association’s AGM in December last year.

On accepting the post, Lewis commented on the current challenging economic climate: “Being elected as president of the BPMA is a great honour and to take on the role in these somewhat trying times will no doubt be challenging. Brexit is clearly a very important subject with potential opportunities and threats for our industry, but I am sure with the help and support of BPMA staff, its Board and Council, we will meet this challenge.”

BPMA director and chief executive Steve Schofield commented: “The BPMA has enjoyed the support and engagement of some very talented people at its helm over the years. I look forward to working with Duncan as we continue to drive the Association forward.”
