BPMA offers position on Brexit

The British Pump Manufacturers Association (BPMA) has composed its Brexit position statement to clarify opportunities and threats for its members. The statement has been circulated to MPs and government departments dealing with Brexit.

BPMA members account for approximately 85% of the total UK production of pumps, and £500 millions worth of pump products are exported from the UK to Europe. However, £1billion worth of pumps is also imported from Europe to the UK. It is estimated that the pump industry employs around 10,000 people in the UK.

The BPMA membership is therefore concerned that post-Brexit, there are no barriers to this flow of trade between the UK and the continent. The BPMA also wants to ensure that members can retain EU staff, as well as the CE marking system.
