Barbour league tables show leading clients

Barbour ABI, league tables, top fifty, contractors, Balfour Beatty, HS2, Galliford Try, Mace

Barbour ABI has released its latest top-50 league tables for the construction industry. The total value of the projects it covers is just under £20 billions.

The largest construction client continues to be HS2, with four projects amounting to £2,622 millions. This includes the award of the HS2 Old Oak Common Central Transport Super Hub part of the scheme at an expected value of £1 billion.

Universities continue to appear prominently in the top 50, with University College London, University of Cambridge, and the Universities of Edinburgh and Leicester appearing in the list. Major government departments are also prominent, including Highways England, Department for Education and the NHS.

In the contractor’s listings, Balfour Beatty Group dominates with an annual value of projects standing at £1,921 millions. Although Galliford Try Construction saw the biggest jump up the monthly league for September, to take the top spot. The company won 17 projects worth a total of £969 millions. Two of these were from Highways England/

The Balfour Beatty Group Limited topped the list of contractors for the past 12 months taking on 50 projects totalling £1.921 billion and Galliford Try Construction were in second place with £1.8 billion from 90 projects. The Mace/Dragados Joint venture completed the top 3 with £1.65 billion from 1 project. The total of projects taken on by contractors for the part 12 months is 1,365 with a total value of £30.656 billion.
