As recommended by Sports England, Nor Ray Vac continuous radiant tube heating serves the sports hall and gym at the K2 community sports and leisure complex in Crawley.
Continuous radiant tube heating has been supplied by Ambi-Rad for the new K2 community sports and leisure complex in Crawley. In addition to the 1925 m2 sports hall and 756 m2 gymnasium, facilities include a 50 m swimming pool with eight lanes, climbing rock floodlit athletics track with seating for 450 spectators, squash courts, health-and-fitness suite with 150 stations, dance studios, martial-arts room, steam and sauna rooms and three multi-purpose offices for meetings, functions and seminars. Nor-Ray Vac heating systems provide background warmth in the sports hall and gymnasium. Designed and fitted by Emcor Group, the system comprises 12 NRV32LR burners covering the entire floor area of the sports hall and four NRV 32LR burners in the gym The continuous radiant tube heating provides low-intensity warmth with rapid heat up and heat recovery. Noise levels are also low. This type of heating is recommended for Sports England’s Optimum Sports Hall, the template for economical community sports halls. Suspended from the roof at high level, the heaters are well away from any activity and are fitted with protective grilles. They are flued remotely, avoiding roof penetrations.
