Women MPs tap into manual skills Women MPs were recently given an opportunity to learn about basic plumbing at an event to highlight the advantages of a career in manual trades for women. Run by Women & Manual Trades and sponsored by the JIVE project, the session gave the MPs five top plumbing tips and a practical session on pipework, including bending and joints. The event was hosted by Claire Curtis-Thomas (left), the first woman professional engineer to be elected to Parliament in its history.
