Design software for VRF air conditioning

Design software for VRF air-conditioning systems from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries is available from 3D Air Sales. This is said to be the first software to enable 2-pipe systems to be converted to 3-pipe — and vice-versa. The software is available free from 3D and HRP. This e-solution program works in two ways. It can be approached from a schedule of equipment, with heating and cooling loads for each floor. Air-conditioning units can be listed in the schedule, then automatically laid out in a pipework diagram showing all pipe lengths, branch connections and distribution controllers. The other approach starts with the schematic diagram, which can then be converted to a schedule. Conversion between a 2-pipe and 3-pipe system is automatic, enabling a consultant to compare design details and costs. The program automatically sizes pipes and calculates capacity losses against pipe lengths. Indoor units are automatically selected based on cooling/heating duties provided. The additional refrigerant charge is calculated. Equipment schedules and layout drawings can be converted to pdf format or exported to CAD. Technical information sheets in pdf format of all indoor and outdoor unit, with dimensioned drawings, sound data, fan curves and performance data, are default selected and can be attached, exported or printed.
