HRS Hevac launches solar hot water system

HRS
The SolarChoice hot-water system from HRS Hevac is designed to maximise the use of solar energy for domestic, commercial and industrial installations.
HRS Hevac’s SolarChoice solar-powered hot-water system is applicable to domestic, commercial and industrial installations. These systems use HRS’s SolarPlate flat-plate solar thermal collector, which can work even when the sky is cloudy. The structure of these collectors is made from stainless steel and the collector base from weather-resistant aluminium with 40 mm of wool insulation at the rear. The glass cover is of ultra-clear, low-iron, toughened glass. Up to 90% of visible sunlight passes through the glass cover and is absorbed by the collector plate. Heat radiated by the collector plate as it heats up is reflected back by the glass cover, so that it is not lost. Water is heated in the copper pipe structure that is part of the collector and pumped thorough a heat exchanger in the storage vessel. When the solar-heated water drops below a set temperature, the pump stops circulating it and the control system switches over to the associated gas or electric boiler.
