Accredited to SAP Appendix Q — Xpelair’s Xcell 270 MVHR mechanical-ventilation and heat-recovery unit.
Two new products from Xpelair are designed to provide energy-efficient ventilation in homes. They are the Xcell 270 mechanical-ventilation and heat-recovery unit (MHVR)and the Premier LV UltraDC fan. The Xcell 270 is accredited to meet the requirements of SAP Appendix Q for MHVR and can be installed in an airing cupboard or loft. The are built around a contra-flow heat exchanger with a heat-transfer rate of 95%. The insulated cabinet also includes filters and long-life DC fans, that are more efficient than AC fans. There are 12 constant-volume settings. Manual and auto controls sensors for bath and shower rooms can boost performance when required. A failsafe interlink will switch off both fans should one fail to avoid the risk of negative pressures in homes with open fires. The Premier LV UltraDC fan has a motor life that is typically five times that of an AC fan. There are four continuous ‘installed’ extract rates for kitchens, utility rooms, bathrooms and toilets. The extract rate can also be set for intermittent ‘installed’ rates in bathrooms and toilets. The integral humidistat, timer and pull cord can all be activated as required.
