An integrated approach to services design

Graphisoft’s CADLink program for the design of HVAC and electrical services is based on a 3D database that tracks all elements with which a building is put together. Using Graphisoft’s Virtual Building model makes it possible to design, administer and manage a building throughout its entire life cycle. The model is intelligent in that it consists of many real-world objects such as radiators, walls and luminaires — rather than just a series of lines and arcs as with a traditional draughting system. These objects can be interrogated by simply clicking on them to reveal information. For example, information about a pipe can include its material, flow size and pressure drop. A cable can have its description, voltage drop and impedance associated with it. Flexibility of operation is provided by the ability of CADLink to work with other design systems. sales@cymap.com
