Balfour Kilpatrick wins Durham school contract

Balfour Kilpatrick has won a £4.6 million contract to provide M&E services for a new replacement secondary school in Durham. The 3-storey building will accommodate 1450 pupils and replace the existing building of Johnston School. The contract involves design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the M&E services and the isolation and making safe of existing services in the existing buildings prior to demolition. Biomass boilers and rain-water harvesting will be included in the scheme to provide renewable energy and sustainable solutions.
