Aqua Mechanical Services wins major Colchester project

Willmott Dixon Construction has appointed Aqua Mechanical Services as M&E design and install contractor for the redevelopment of Colchester Institute. The contract is worth over £3.5 million and was awarded following a first-stage tender exercise and working closely with the project team during the second-stage tender period to finalise the scope and content of the building-services installation, which includes value-engineering savings in excess of £400 000. The new campus will provide the institute with state-of-the-art purpose-built facilities providing 28 000 m2 of new and refurbished accommodation. David King, Aqua’s contracts director for the project says, ‘We are extremely delighted to have secured this project with Willmott Dixon Construction. As one of Willmott Dixon’s preferred contractors we have been working hard with their pre-construction team over recent months to achieve the client’s budget without compromising the design.’
