The pump that thinks for itself

Grundfos has expanded its Magna range of pumps to provide flows from 5 to 35 m3/h and heads from 1.2 to 12 m. Compared with its predecessor, the Magna pump reduces energy consumption by 16% and by 78% compared with traditional fixed-speed circulator pumps. The improved Magna expands on the innovative use of permanent-magnet motors, which means that no power is needed to generate the magnetic field in the rotor. An ‘auto-adapt’ function learns the system conditions and matches pump operation to them. In about 80% of Magna installations, there is no need to make further manual adjustments.
