Space Air showroom shows energy-efficient technologies

A host of Daikin energy-efficient heat-pump systems features in Space Air’s residential showroom at Guildford.
Space Air has revamped its popular residential showroom to include fully operational models of Daikin’s residential range of products. They include the Altherma air-to-water heat-pump system, heat-recovery ventilation and air-to-air split and multi-split systems. Existing dealer installers, consultants, architects, interior designers and end users are welcome to visit. Neil Afram, the company’s managing director, says, ‘Most home owners are not familiar with heat-pump technology. The showroom is intended to provide clear, accurate data for the consumer — reassuring them with the look and feel of the systems. ‘For many, this is a large investment for heating/cooling and hot-water needs, and visitors can gain a much better perspective on the products — before they buy.’ The showroom features various wall- and floor-mounted fan-coil units, above-ceiling concealed units and cassettes — as they would appear in a home. The Altherma system is displayed in a cut-away airing cupboard, connecting to a variety of wet central-heating emitters. For those considering heat-recovery ventilation, a Daikin HRV system is displayed on a wall as a schematic drawing — but with all the hardware in position. This particular system has been specially developed for home owners by Space Air and has push-in components. No special installation skills are required, except for electrical connections.
