Closed active chilled beams

Ruskin Air Management has launched a new range of Air Diffusion closed active chilled beams. They are virtually silent in operation. A flow water temperature of 14 to 16°C is sufficient for cooling, making possible contributions from renewable sources. A minimal primary fresh-air supply is forced through induction nozzles over heat exchangers in the active section to provide heating or cooling. Cooling performance is up to 722 W/m for the GB30 beams and up to 888 W/m for GB60 models. GB30 units are designed to co-ordinate with standard 300 mm grid ceiling systems, but can be used with most types of ceiling construction. Conditioned air is distributed into the space in a 2-way opposite horizontal pattern via a square-mesh face plate. Only simple on/off control of the water flow through the beams is needed to maintain the required room temperature. These beams have a low profile, so they can be used for refurbishment as well as new-build projects.
