Heydal enters military service at Portsmouth

Heydal

The main kitchen of one of the oldest fortified positions in the UK in active military service, Fort Blockhouse in Portsmouth, is ventilated using a Heydal ventilated-system from Britannia.

Grease is removed by double-skinned perforated extract modules. Grease cannot drip back onto cooling surfaces and is retained in the modules and collection troughs. The void is divided into exhaust and supply air plena, with leak-tight vertical partitions to ensure it is free of grease.

Made entirely of stainless steel, the ceiling can easily be taken down and reconfigured to accommodate changes in the layout of kitchen equipment.
