Rok helps kick prostate cancer into touch

Rok 5-a-side
The 5-a-side tournament organised by Rok raised £40 000 for The Prostate Cancer Charity and was won by a team from Hoist & Access of Glasgow.
Construction group Rok has raised £40 000 for The Prostate Cancer Charity through a nationwide charity football tournament. Teams from Rok offices and their suppliers throughout the UK participated in the 5-a-side Rok Real Man Cup to aid the charity. The culmination of the tournament, over several months, was the final between players from Rok’s Reading office and a team from Glasgow sub-contractor Hoist & Access at Heathrow. The final was decided by a penalty shoot-out, with the Scottish side winning 3-1. The proceeds were presented to The Prostate Cancer Charity by Rok chief executive Garvis Snook, an ambassador of this charity. He says, ‘As a business with a high percentage of male employees, it was an obvious choice for us to support The Prostate Cancer Charity and the vital work it does in highlighting and fighting the disease.’ Prostate cancer is responsible for the deaths of 10 000 men in the UK each year.
