Chelmsford school installs ground-source heat pump

Chelmsford School

A school in Chelmsford has its heating and hot water provided by a Calorex ground-source heat pump served by three boreholes drilled 65 m deep under the playground.

The installation at St Cedds School was carried out in association with Earth Energy and was preferred over extending the existing gas mains supply.

There are four units in Calorex’s range of ground-source heat pumps, and the company has over 600 installations in the UK with over 600 000 h of measured performance data.
